Macbook Air M1 After 1 Year Review 2022 Update - Insanely Powerful Machine

It's been almost a year since Apple launched this laptop to the market, equipped with the latest chipset made by Apple. 

Apple has successfully transitioned to a powerful yet efficient technology, with three new models featuring this M1 chipset; Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, and Mac Mini.

Personal Statement

Of course we all understand that in the world of technology nothing is slow, everything is fast, including the development of laptops. 

I can say that Apple's latest M1 chip has been able to get the "Best" predicate. 

Not that I want to hyperbole, but it's true. For example, someone asks me "hey, what laptop should I buy" Well, I will be very easy to recommend this laptop.

Like seriously, this laptop is incredible! Keep in mind, this is only the base model, not the Pro version. Disclaimer, this article is not sponsored by Apple at all.

So, lets jump to the interesting part!

Battery Life

The question that is often asked by new laptop owners is: how long can the battery last?

At first I was a little skeptical about the statement given by Apple that this laptop could last up to 18 hours, even though it was written all day battery life on Apple's official website. 

But there will always be people who say that this laptop doesn't really last 18 hours. 

This is indeed true, because there will never be anything that can be very accurate according to what has been written in the information section of the product and some can even be more than what has been written. 

However, if viewed according to the author's user experience; I always use this laptop for more than 2 days without being charged, of course it's not used to play games, just light work like Microsoft Office & Video Player like Youtube.

That's more or less if we discuss about the battery of an electronic device, everything will be relative. Back again to the battery life of this Macbook Air M1, one word "Increrdible".

Super Quite!

Most of you must have had an unpleasant experience regarding laptop fans. 

While in a zoom meeting, suddenly a very loud sound came out of the laptop and what was even worse, the voice could be heard from other users in the online meeting application, sucks, right?

Macbook Air M1 is the only product that uses the latest chipset and does not use a fan as a cooler! and the factor of this fanless is that it makes this laptop very thin and most importantly; absolutely no sound coming out of the laptop.

Even so, the Macbook Air with this base model can be said to be very competitive with other high end laptops even without a fan.

Typing Experience

The keyboard that was on the previous series of (2019) laptops was the butterfly mechanism, where this type of keyboard drew a lot of criticism from various macbook users. 

The M1 series that came out with a magic keyboard mechanism actually got a lot of good feedback, therefore this magic keyboard has a lot of plus points for this macbook with the M1 chip.

As you know, the magic keyboard provides an extraordinary typing feeling, very clicky and also the travel distance from the magic keyboard is also very, very sufficient. 

Unlike the butterfly keyboard, which has a very short travel distance which can make the typing experience not as good as a magic keyboard. 

But macbook users need to thank Apple Developers who have listened to the complaints of most Macbook users.

The IO Port

Maybe if we talk about the ports on this laptop, it could be a drawback. Because this Macbook Air M1 comes only equipped with 2 USB-C ports, that's it. 

But this part is also what can make this laptop have advantages that do not exist in other laptops or with the Pro series of this laptop.

With only 2 USB-C ports, it can make the laptop look very, very thin and simple. although if you want to buy a macbook Air M1 you also have to prepare more money to buy additional accessories in the form of a dongle. 

But there are lots of people who don't mind this even though they like the view that is not too crowded by the port, one of them is me.

Macbook Air M1 Perfomance; Base Model is Enough!

Yes, its true. Base model is enough for your daily use, after one year my Macbook Air M1 with 8 Gigs Memory is still rocking! 

But, if you want customs specification from your maccbok Air M1, not only me, but many tech reviewers recommend upgrading the RAM to 16 GigaByte and that's more than enough for your daily needs.

After running some real live tests using editing software like Photoshop, Final Cut Pro to Blender. 

This laptop is arguably very capable of running the editing software mentioned above, even if you want to push the performance of this laptop to its limit.

Conclusion

Over all, this laptop is a beast. You can use this laptop for various jobs such as office needs, editing and even light gaming you can also do with this laptop. 

The base model of this laptop is also highly recommended if you want to buy this Macbook Air M1 and this is also very suitable for those of you who want to buy products from Apple for the first time.

The keyboard in this laptop is just amazing. Apple is not wrong to take steps to change the type of keyboard used on this laptop. 

The magic keyboard on this laptop will bring a new experience to your user experience.

For those of you who are very dependent on the IO port, maybe this laptop is not for you. 

Because based on what has been explained above, this laptop only has 2 USB-C ports and for some people, this can be very inconvenient.
