How to Create NFT Art on Photoshop 2022 - Easiest Way Possible

NFT or Non Fungible Token is still a trend in nowadays, many big players like Gary Vee and many top celebrities like Snoop Dog are participating in the NFT world and this shows that the hype is real.

For some people may only know that NFT is just a digital work of art, but actually there are several types of NFT including; digital works, music, generative art and in-game assets. 

For now, the top ranking is NFT digital art.

The types of NFT most people make is digital art, such as vector art, pixel art and also 3D art, but the type of work that we will discuss this time is pixel art. 

Besides from being easy to make, this pixel art also doesn't require a high level of expertise. 

Just a few minutes of practice, surely you will be able to make pixel art if you are familiar with the tools in the software that you often use.

Software for making NFT digital art is also very variative, especially those that have the capability to create pixel art. 

Starting from Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Pixie, Make Pixel Art, Figma, etc. On this occasion we will use Adobe Photoshop software.

Then how exactly is it easy to make NFT digital art in Photoshop?

Guide For Making Pixel Art on Photoshop

• First, you must have Adobe Photoshop software installed on your computer. 

• Next you must first determine the canvas size, 64x64 pixels (ideal size for making pixel art). 

• The initial appearance of your canvas will definitely look small, make sure you zoom in and give it a color first by pressing the "G" button on the keyboard, so that the pixels that you will edit are clearly visible.

• The tool that we will use this time is the pencil tool, you can see the image below for the pict of the pencil tool.

• Determine the concept or idea that you will make pixel art. You can draw anything from animals, characters, to objects around you. 

• This time I will create a planet. Don't forget to create a new layer for the main content, in the way I've outlined in the image below. 

The goal is to make it easier for you to organize the design between the background, main content and additional layers. 

 

 

• If you have found an idea for what kind of design to make, then you can visualize your idea into a work of art, using the pencil tool by giving color to each pixel box on your canvas, to form a complete image.

As you can see in the image of the planet that I have made below.

 

• If this section is complete, then you can add additional designs or additional elements that can make your overall design look cuter. 

• This time I will add detailed stars on a new layer.

You can always add a new layer, and place the layer according to your wishes, if you want to place it behind the main content, place the new layer below it, and vice versa.

 

• If you've made it to this section, you can basically finish your pixel art design. When you are satisfied with the final design you made, the next step is quite simple.

You just need to export your design into PNG format, by clicking "File" on the menu at the top, then clicking on "Quick Export as PNG", specify your design storage directory and congratulations, you've finished your NFT design.

 

Conclusion

Basically, making pixel art is not that difficult, you only need to use the pencil tool in Photoshop. Don't forget to always create a "Group" by pressing ctrl/cmd + G when you selected the layer that you wishes to create a group on each type of layer you create as you can see on the right in the pictures above.
